Philip Scott Johnson — Featured Digital Artist

The Marion Arts Commission is                                                             honored to feature the visionary works of                                                           Philip Scott Johnson, an internationally                                           recognized digital artist from St. Louis                                                    whose groundbreaking video art                                                           captivated audiences around the world.

Inspired by Pablo Picasso’s quote, “Everything you can imagine is real,” Johnson developed a remarkable artistic style that transformed still images into living visual experiences through the seamless morphing of portraits, photography, and fine art. His innovative works have been viewed by millions online and exhibited internationally, including at the Kawaguchi Art Gallery in Tokyo and the White Square Gallery in Las Vegas.

Though professionally accomplished in business and financial planning, Philip’s artistic vision became his lasting legacy. His celebrated works, including 500 Years of Female Portraits in Western Art and Women in Film, continue to inspire viewers through their beauty, technical mastery, and emotional depth.

Philip Scott Johnson passed away on January 23, 2023, at the age of 56. His work remains a powerful reminder of the imagination, creativity, and humanity that art can bring into the world.
